Puan Nur Hidayah bt Ismail was born on 25 Mac 1965 in Pasir Mas, Kelantan. Her father, Encik Ismail bin Ahmad, was a supervisor at JKR whilst her mother, Che Jah bt Che Harun, is a housewife who loves gardening. As the youngest child in the family, she has three elder sisters. Growing up in the village of Pasir Mas, Kelantan, she had a wonderful childhood.
The young Puan Hidayah received her primary education at Sekolah Kebangsaan Lemal, Pasir Mas, Kelantan, and her secondary education (form 1 – form 5) at Sekolah Menengah Perempuan Pasir Mas, Kelantan. After having passed her SPM (Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia) with flying colours, she pursued her pre-university studies in Sekolah Menengah Sultan Ibrahim 1, Pasir Mas, Kelantan. As an ambitious young lady, she went on to pursue her tertiary education in University Malaya in 1985, majoring in Malay Language and graduated in 1988 with a bachelor of arts degree. In 1990, she graduated from Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris, Tanjung Malim, with a diploma in education.
Puan Nur Hidayah first started teaching on the 4th of May 1990 in SMK Bangsar where she was immediately appointed as the Head of the Malay Language Department. In the year 2012, she was promoted to be the Guru Kanan Bahasa and held this post until she retired after teaching in SMK Bangsar for 29 years. As the Guru Kanan Bahasa, she was very hardworking, responsible, friendly, and kind and was well loved by the staff and students of SMK Bangsar. Her advice for the students of SMK Bangsar is, "Do your best and never give up on your studies."
The 27th of June 2019 was a very special day as it was the day we celebrated the retirement of our Ketua Bidang Bahasa, Puan Hajah Nur Hidayah bt Ismail, with a memorable ceremony at Dataran AR-Rahman, SMK Bangsar. Also known as “Memori Mesra Lambaian Kasih'”, this ceremony was attended by all the academic / non academic staff, and students of SMK Bangsar.
