‘Merdeka’ means ‘independent’ and while Malaysia has been free from colonization for 62 years, the Merdeka celebration is still a glorious annual event with different themes and programmes held throughout the month of August. This year, the Merdeka Day Celebration was held at SMK Bangsar on the 9th. of August. Below are photos of this grand annual event which I took that day (in chronological order).
