HARI KEUSAHAWANAN SMK BANGSAR 2018

Welcome to the Entrepreneurship Day of SMK Bangsar 2018 with our school principal, Puan Hajah Noraizan Mohamed

“The entrepreneur”, according to Frenchman J B Say (1800), “shifts economic resources out of an area of lower and into an area of higher productivity and greater yield.” This was the original definition – and the best as what Drucker says. What then is entrepreneurship? Koontz & Fulmer define entrepreneurship as “the ability of a person to see a business opportunity, to get together the capital needed to take advantage of the opportunity, and to start a business, taking the risk of failure in the hope of reaping the rewards of success.” Nathaniel H Left defines entrepreneurship as “the capacity for innovation, investment, and expansion in new markets, products, and techniques.” The purpose of entrepreneurship is therefore to encourage people to be successful by starting their own business. As a symbol of steadfastness and achievement, entrepreneurship can be a panacea to economic transformation, empowerment, and poverty alleviation particularly in developing countries.

The Hari Keusahawanan (Entrepreneurship Day) of SMK Bangsar was held on 15th. April 2018 with the intention to create awareness for entrepreneurship and leadership amongst the students. This special event has given our students the opportunity to be a business owner for one day thus imparting further momentum to the importance of entrepreneurship to the Malaysian economy. Below is a beautiful series of photographs which I took during this special yet memorable event.

Almost sold out as business was really good

The Entrepreneur Day turned out to be a great success and SMK Bangsar is confident that it would churn out some of the most successful entrepreneurs in the future - perhaps the nest Mark Zuckerberg or Jack Dorsey.

  1. It is good for the student to have knowledge about business. Communicate with customers, how to handle money and how to attract the customers to buy your product. Attitude such as friendly, being polite, respectful and honesty is important in business. (Nurissah Ain,2Murni)
