SMK Bangsar (Integ) Form 5 Graduation Ceremony 2018

On 22 September 2018, SMK Bangsar (Integ) organized its 15th. graduation ceremony for the Form 5 students in Dewan Tun Dr. Ismail, Putra World Trade Centre. On this day, a total of 132 students celebrated the completion of their secondary education (5 Setia – 18 students;  5 Inovatif – 27 students; PPKI – 6 students; 5 Efektif – 30 students; 5 Vokasional – 20 students; & 5 Bestari – 31 students). The purpose of this graduation ceremony was to celebrate students who have successfully met the academic and extracurricular requirements for graduation.

The ceremony provided a public venue in which our graduating students received their certs, marking their official graduation from secondary school. It was a defining moment in their lives, giving a huge boost to self esteem and confidence. Also present at the ceremony were our guests of honour, Yang Berbahagia Tan Sri Dr. Khair bin Mohamad Yusof who was formerly the Ketua Pengarah Pelajaran and our YDP PIBG Encik Sharudin bin Ahmad.

This special Graduation Ceremony was indeed a time of celebration and achievement. It was also a time of reflection on past trials and successes as well as hope for the future. As teachers, we have already done our job of educating our students and now it is time to take a step back and let them shine. As they make their transition from school to the real world, we would like to wish them success in all their future endeavours. Here are some beautiful quotes that we would like to share with them:

i.    Graduation is not the end; it’s the beginning. —Senator Orrin Hatch
ii.   Start where you are. Use what you have. Do what you can. —Arthur Ashe
iii   Education is not preparation for life; education is life itself. —John Dewey
iv   To accomplish great things, we must not only act, but also dream, not only plan, but also believe. —Anatole France
v    Your life is your story, and the adventure ahead of you is the journey to fulfill your own purpose and potential. —Kerry Washington
vi   The fireworks begin today. Each diploma is a lighted match. Each one of you is a fuse. —Edward Koch
vii  Take pride in how far you’ve come. Have faith in how far you can go. But don’t forget to   enjoy the journey. —Michael Josephson

Graduation is also referred to as commencement as the term supports the idea that rather than marking the end of one stage in a student’s life, it signifies the beginning of the next. Some pieces of advice for our students we hope they won’t ignore - Always remember that education does not stop after you graduate from school. You will not get very far in life based on what you already know. You will only advance in life by what you are going to learn after you leave here. All the best for a bright future ahead of you! Congratulations on your Graduation.

The series of photos below (in chronological order) which I took on this special day are a perfect reflection of this happy and meaningful event.
